Tom can stand...

Well - he can pull himself up now. He also climbed on to the red crate.

RIP Cyril

Died last Sunday. Jan and Ted buried him at the bottom of the garden (as we were on holiday) and sang "All Creatures Great and Small"

Twins have joined the library and taken out their first things (although they took out toys not books).

Lido this morning. Twins hated it. Lucy liked it.

Planning to go to the library this afternoon to join the twins up, followed by a bit of playpark for Lucy.

Both Lottie and Tom are on their 75% for height, weight and head circ - which is great - all good there.

She seemed to think Tommy might have a squint though so I've been referred for that one to check him out. What fun.

1 year checkup

Lucy and the twins came for a nice run with me this morning. we did nearly 7 miles. The twins went to sleep after a mile or so and Lucy managed to cycle the whole thing without complaining.

We've just got back from Blue Reef where Lucy played under the sprinklers. The twins are having a quick snooze before I take them to the Health Centre for their "1 year checkup"

Home again`

for a bit anyway. Cyril is still alive though still not eating much. Lucy's Tamagotchi arrived while we were away so we've just been sussing that out while the twins snooze.

Laundry is drying outside - don't know how we've ended up with so much because mum cleaned it all before we left.

Currently wondering if it's the "follow on" milk that is making Tom constipated, so I've changed back to the initial milk he was having to see what happens.

Lottie's ear is all better and she had her last does of Amoxycillin on Saturday.

OK - I'll stop talking about sick babies now :)

I think Lottie is kicking the ear infection. She's been in a good mood all day and the gunk has stopped flowing.

Lottie's Gunky Ear

Poor girl - trying to be brave but still has a very gunky ear. Temperature is OK though. Going back to the doctor in a couple of hours just to make sure that there is nothing else I could be doing for her

Lottie at 6.30am

Pre Calpol/Ibu was....... 37.6 Fingers crossed she's on the mend now.

Saturday, August 08, 2009

Back from Guildhall walk health centre - which is a new 8am-8pm, 7 days a week, NHS GP health centre in town - with Amoxycillin. Lets see if that sorts her out.

St Mary's Walk in centre

St Mary's Walk in centre, say that yes indeed Charlotte does have an ear infection. They can't prescribe anything though.

and the temps are..

Didn't bother with Tom as he seems fine

Lottie was 38.2 at 6 am pre Calpol & Ibu and 36.8 afterwards at about 8.40 am.

Less cheesed off today

Tom is fine - Lottie is still not right but I think she has an ear infection and that's what is giving her the temperature. Only 2 more doses of tamiflu to go - I shall be glad when that is over as it is revolting and I think that is making her feel sick too. Bit pissed off that I have to wait until Monday to get her something for the ear infection though.

Fed up

Bit cheesed off today. Tom seems mostly better - still snotty and coughing but mostly a happy boy who doesn't need painkillers.

Lottie on the other hand still has high temps and sometimes screams in agony about something. I think it might be the tamiflu as I know it has side effects like stomach ache and headache and even a "tamiflu rash" which Lottie has. at 6.03pm I noticed a trickle of goo coming from her ears and remembering Lucy's problems, went round to the doctors who didn't seem remotely bothered as they had closed 3 minutes earlier - and referred me to the emergency doctors (which is a 3 hour wait in a germ infested waiting room in Cosham). We'll see what the night brings and how she is tomorrow :(

In other (non pig flu) news

Tom stood - he really did. He straightened his legs and wouldn't bend them when I picked him out of his chair to put him on the ground.

Today's temps

Tom was 37.7 without calpol this morning - nearly normal

Lottie is still high - 38.8 - and bad tempered - though she's fine after calpol and ibuprofen. She did come down with it 24 hours after him though - so got my fingers crossed that she begins to beat it soon.

Lottie @ 08.20 - down to 37.7 after the calpol and ibu treatment plus a quick lap of the patio in her nappy.

At 11.20, after morning snooze Lottie was 36.4 and that was 5.5 hours after calpol and ibu

Tom was 37.9 but he's had no medicine at all today (well - except tamiflu)

Thursday, August 06, 2009

bedtime temps

tested at 6.30

Tom - 37.5 (4 hours after calpol)
Lottie 37.7 (3 hours after ibuprofen)

Lottie at 15.30

39.2 - 5 hours after Calpol :(

Lottie wins the highest temp so far.

Tom @ 14.54

is 37.9 - 4 hours after calpol and having just woken up.... fingers crossed he's on the mend.

Temps pre Calpol @ 6am

Tom - 38.3
Lottie - 38.5

4th out of 10 doses of Tamiflu administered. Mixed with sugar syrup - no puking from the boy this time. Both doing "Tamiflu poos". Delightful. Tom will probably be sad when he stops taking Tamiflu and his poos go hard again.

Tom @ 9.25am

37.1 degrees at 9.25am - but he was sitting outside in his nappy.

They were both over 38 at 6am this morning. Think Charlotte was 38.2 and Tom was 38.7 ish maybe.

Eddie, Lucy and I still haven't got a temperature.

Lottie has a temperature today. Tom puked his tamiflu straight back up (twice).

On the positive side - they both seem fine once calpol'd and Lottie climbed the stairs all the way to the top yesterday.

Swine Flu

Well the doc suspects swine flu so I have tamiflu prescriptions for both. Eddie and Lucy are off to fetch it.

Tom's got a temperature

Everyone has colds but Tom has got a temperature. 38.3 this morning. 39 by 10 o'clock. Got a phone call back from the doctors at 12.10 and have arranged to take him in at 2.10pm. Eddie has come home from work to look after the other two.

He's got a cough which seems to be preventing him from sleeping and a snotty nose which means he can't keep his dummy in. He seems to have a Wheezy chest to me so I wonder if that's causing the temperature.

Snot Brigade

All the children have colds :(
